The Dance Mom’s Reunion

Calling all lovers of drama! The hit show Dance Moms, best known for its portrayal of drama between the dance moms, dancers and the dance companies, is returning for a television special reunion show! It is said to be airing sometime in 2024 on Lifetime.

Dance Moms announced the revival on Instagram with a picture of some returning members from the Dance Moms’ cast, including Chloe Lukasiak, Paige Hyland, Brooke Hyland, Kendall Vertes, Kalani Hilliker, and Jojo Siwa. The cast members were dressed up and inside what is presumably the set for the upcoming show. The cast even posted the same picture to their personal Instagram accounts to spread the exciting news.

Noticeably not in the picture are Dance Mom stars Nia Frazier, Maddie Ziegler, and Mackenzie Ziegler. Some fans, including myself, are curious as to why these Dance Moms alums will not be joining their former team members in the reunion show. Mackenzie addressed the subject on her TikTok by commenting, “To be honest, we didn’t feel like being back in that environment when it happened years ago.”

Despite an incomplete cast coming back for the reunion, it seems they are all still on good terms with each other. Just before the reunion show was announced, multiple people, including Dr. Holly Frazier (Nia’s mom), Melissa Gisoni (Maddie and Mackenzie’s mom), and Kendall posted pictures of the original cast celebrating Paige’s 23rd birthday together.

As someone who watched Dance Moms when I was younger, it is nostalgic to see all these girls together again. I am glad some of them feel comfortable enough to shoot a reunion show, knowing how hard it was for some of them to film the original. I can only imagine this is the reason why the complete original cast will not be back for the reunion, and I don’t blame them.

The only question I have about the reunion is will Abby Lee Miller make an appearance at all? Overall, I can’t wait for the show to air! I know my friends and I will be waiting to hear all of the drama unfold all these years later.
