Golden creates across multiple mediums through teams under the three key focus areas of artistry, journalism, and management. The following 12 teams work together throughout the academic year to release a full issue each spring.

Artistry

  • Source clothing/accessories for shoots from thrift shops, local businesses, etc.

    Translate mood boards/inspiration images into eye-catching, vivid outfits for models.

    Help models on day-of shoots with clothing and specifics for their outfits.

  • Curate a finalized look for shoots based on styling team’s mood boards and inspiration.

  • Creates lettering, graphic elements, and infographic illustrations for Golden blog, merch, magazine issue, and social media.

    Creates layout design for issue using images and text curated to create a cohesive design.

  • Plan, produce, and create content for Golden’s social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Spotify, and Pinterest).

Journalism

  • Write long-form articles that are published in the issue.

  • Write short weekly pieces covering lifestyle, fashion, beauty, culture and identity, and advice that are published on Golden’s website.

  • Captures and documents the essence of Golden’s photoshoots, events, and collaborations through high quality, crisp, impactful photography.

    Works alongside videography teams to infuse artistic concepts into social media and website.

Management

  • Works with all teams to help allocate materials and event spaces for planned events.

  • “Backbone” of the magazine, helps to coordinate and run all photoshoots, model castings.

  • Assist in the creation of the budget.

    Work with businesses to secure sponsorships and create partnerships.

  • Create and publish weekly email newsletters highlighting trends, Golden’s events and community, and blog posts.
