A Local Bakery Review

Winter is one of my favorite times of the year, not when it is not 50 degrees one week and 20 the next. The winter when there is so much snow covering street lamps and the trees and wearing scarves to get coffee with your friends.

Going into a warm bakery to warm up from the freezing weather and sitting down to grab a coffee and pastry might be just the right solution

One thing that adds to the environment and experience of the bakery is the interior and charm. I think local bakeries have not only the most authentic and charming energy but are super cute and have some of the best foods.

Next time you find yourself with a bunch of snow outside and you are looking for a charming bakery, these are some that I have found/ loved trying out.

Hanisch Bakery: This bakery has a wide selection of innovative cakes and donuts as well as a great lunch and breakfast selection. Inside there is a great section to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee or lunch and catch up with a friend. The warmer tone interior has a great charm and provides a warm and charming experience. The wood tone with the charming pictures on the walls add character and a good feel for the place. If you're looking for a classic homey feel then I would highly recommend trying out Hanisch Bakery.

Vegan East Bakery: Vegan east has two locations in Minneapolis, one on Lyndale Avenue and the other on South 34th Avenue. As the name suggests this cafe/bakery only sells vegan baked goods. Having friends who are vegan I have seen how hard it can be to find vegan pastries that actually taste good and are worth it. This bakery does not disappoint, they have a great selection so anyone can find something that they would like. Their bright interior makes it a welcoming place to be as well as their great coffee menu.

Black Walnut: Located on Hennepin Avenue this charming bakery has a wide variety of classic pastries and an excellent selection of coffee. Their bright interior gives a good and lively energy to grab coffee and stay awhile with a friend. The most important thing is that their pastries are delicious (especially the almond croissant). If you are looking for a bright and lively place to check out I highly recommend trying out Black Walnut bakery.
