Spring Outfit Picks

With spring commencing, the blog team at Golden created a spring outfit inspo board for your perusal. Whether it’s planning an outfit for a picnic outing, a rainy morning or simply a brunch date with your friends – we’ve got you covered.

For this blog, members of our team share their ideal spring outfit creation (with accessories included). From springtime blouses, jorts, maxi shirts and the perfect cardi, there is something for everyone.

It’s New York or Nothing Core: Brought to you by Emma Walytka

I am talking about an olive green mini purse. A pair of Mary Janes paired with a ruffle sock. Getting the vision? Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty.

Top: oversized jersey-style dark green top with the number “20” (don’t ask me, it just fits the university vibe).

Bottoms: more like the perfect black mini skirt with a slit on the left side (right?! This eats)

Hair: two loose braids with bows in the ends!

Jacket: a faux leather jacket that is worn and has a baggy fit.

Jewelry: mixed metals baby! Picture a set of chunky gold hoops, rings on every finger, a necklace with your angel numbers— chef’s kiss!

Dressing Like a Picnic: Veronica Broskovetz

When springtime rolls around and the sun is finally shining it’s time for me to dress like a picnic. A long pastel midi skirt, perhaps with flowers or strips paired with a solid top.

No outfit is complete without accessories, especially jewelry. Pearls are always going to be a safe and classy look, especially if we remain in that softer and feminine feel. Adding a ribbon… or two will also pull together the look (literally and figuratively).

Where will I hold my wallet and emotional support calico critter? In a pink mini handbag!

With the ribbons holding the hair in place for any breeze that comes by and my purse, the final part that completes the look are the shoes. A good ballet flat in a cream tone would match completely.

Boom! You have an idea of my ideal outfit for spring… or even summer (I’m getting too excited for warmer weather)!

Comfortable, Breezy and Chic: Isabella Caswell

There is nothing I love more than a knee-high boot, midi-length skirt and a fitted top when the weather gets warmer. It’s a classically flattering silhouette.

After winter, filled with consistently wearing greys and neutrals adjacent to the outside dreariness, I am dying to burst out the color in my wardrobe. My favorite way to do that is with my colorful collection of ditsy patterned midi skirts.

If it is warm enough to wear a short sleeve, I love to stack multiple bracelets. It is the perfect time to show them off after wearing chunky sweaters and long sleeves all winter.

Another simple and comfortably chic look I love to dawn in spring is jeans, a flowy blouse and ballet flats. It is so cute when just the tip of the show pokes out under baggy jeans, especially if they add a pop of color to the outfit.

You could even replace the jeans with track pants for a cool balance of masculine and feminine pieces.

Sunkissed and Slow Living: Grace Vang

When the weather turns warmer and the days get longer, all I fantasize about is sunbathing, swimming and taking walks in the country or nature somewhere.

I’ve been longing for the sun to kiss my skin and give me hope that summer is coming. I’ve been appreciating the light breeze to cool me down and see it as winter saying its goodbye.

This in-between weather inspires many outfits and is perfect for mixing staples from every season. Think about mixing knits with shorts or skirts, jeans with blouses, boots with dresses and outfits like that. I am loving 100% cotton pieces, leather boots and flowy clothing for a sunkissed and slow-living spring.

Here is one signature outfit I will be wearing this spring: A colorful, oversized and boxy knit, cotton boxer shorts, knee-high biker boots and aviator sunglasses.

Downtown Girl, but also summer in Italy?: Natasha Delion

In every outfit, comfortability is key for me. Baggy jeans and sneakers will always win over a skirt and heels, but I also love dressing up when the occasion calls for it. A cute floral dress with some summer sandals pops up on days I’m relaxing on the beach or hanging downtown with friends.

Despite this being a Spring/Summer blog, I have to bring up my love of fall and will make any excuse to bring the fall downtown girl aesthetic into every season. Altering my fall style for summer means keeping the baggy jeans as well as my New Balances and adding a babydoll top.

Another good fit following that aesthetic would be a black mini skirt, white fitted t-shirt and a denim vest. With this I’d ditch the New Balances and throw in some Converse or Mary Jane Doc Martens. The skirt adds the girliness I need, but the t-shirt and vest add the city-vibe that’s necessary for me to feel myself.

Lastly, I can’t resist a Mamma Mia-esque outfit and switching between 70s vibes and Boho. I always adore a flared jean with some cropped tank or a crochet top (bonus points for flared sleeves). But I also love a Boho style tiered dress or skirt with a floral pattern and paired with a plain top.

With all these styles we’ve shared, it’s important to note that you should dress in what makes you feel the most yourself. Take inspiration from outfits you love and alter them into your own ideal outfit.

Embrace the warm weather and experiment with all kinds of styles, go thrifting and enjoy the sun. We at Golden wish you the best in your Spring/Summer fashion explorations and hope our Pinterest board helps inspire your next outfits.
