Get Ready with Me: My Everyday Makeup Must-Haves

It’s very rare that I leave the house without makeup on. I’d say it’s even rarer that I look up new products before a trip to Sephora. Over the years, I’ve found myself constantly buying the same cosmetic staples for my everyday makeup routine. While I do see the fun in trying out new products, when I find a product that’s high quality, durable and lasts for a long period of time, I buy it again, and again, and again. I mean if it works - why change it? I may not be a beauty guru, but down below are my tried and true makeup favorites that have been used for (literally) forever and get the job done.

Super goop SPF unseen sunscreen $34

SunScreen is the one thing that is never forgotten in my morning routine. The Super goop unseen sunscreen is one of my favorites because it serves as both my sunscreen and my primer. A bonus is that it leaves you with a glossy finish, which can give your face a fresh look, even if you aren’t planning on putting on any makeup after it.

Better than sex mascara $27

While I’ve tried multiple mascaras, the Better than Sex mascara has been my go-to time and time again. The additional volume and length it gives is exactly what I look for in a mascara.

Fenty concealer $26

With my chronic dark circles (thanks to school and genetics), concealer has been a staple in my routine ever since I first started wearing makeup. The Fenty concealer has been one of my favorites as it has such a wide variety of shades, lasts long, and doesn’t leave creases throughout the day.

Maybelline clear mascara $6.99

I don’t usually fuss over my brows much, but using clear mascara to set my brows has been a life hack I’ve incorporated into my daily routine. The Covergirl clear mascara does the trick quite well - keeping your brows in place all day and has a great price point for how well it works.

Mac Bronzer ($30) & Blush ($25)

Bronzer and blush have been two products that have snuck their way into my daily routine. Living in Minnesota, it can be difficult to keep the color in your face, no matter whether you have a light or dark complexion. The Mac bronzer and blush have been my favorites, and add both color and definition to my face.

Laura Mercier translucent powder $39

To top off my makeup, I always use a translucent powder and the Laura Mercier powder has been my favorite for years now. With naturally oily skin, this powder has kept my skin matte and my makeup on all day.

Ulta lip gloss $9

I’ve never been big into lip products. I don’t even think that I own a lipstick, but over time I’ve found lipglosses to one of my favorite lip products. The Ulta lip gloss has been a favorite of mine and has an excellent price point, allowing me space for trial and error when it comes to finding the right shade.

Kamar Abdullahi

I’m a junior at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities majoring in biology and minoring in fashion studies. I’ve always loved looking at trends, design and fashion and have found it to be the point of many of my conversations. Writing for the blog allows me the opportunity to share my thoughts and opinions on things I’ve been loving (or hating), and feels like I’m just chatting with my best friends!
