How to: Find the Perfect Pair of Glasses

Glasses are no longer just for those who have bad vision. Blue light glasses have become a popular item around college campuses, and are much more accessible than before with sites such as Warby Parker and Amazon. It’s a trending accessory for good reason. These glasses have been shown to filter out the harmful blue light emitted by technology that, according to Harvard Medical School, can impact sleep and cause headaches and eye strain.

The art of finding a great pair of frames is not always easy, since not every glasses trend works with every face shape. However, knowing which type of frames flatter your face the best will allow you to find a perfect pair of glasses that you won’t want to take off - even if you have the luxury of being able to see without them.

Oval Face Shapes:

The in-betweenness of oval face shapes gives them a slight advantage in finding frames.  From circular to square to cat eye, almost all frame styles will flatter an oval face shape.

Round Face Shapes:

With round faces, it’s typically recommended to go with glasses that have a square or hexagonal shape. The structure of these frames will add dimension and complement the structure of your face.

Heart Face Shape:

With this face shape, there is a lot of versatility in the shape of frames you could choose. Instead, you should focus on the size of the frame. Wide glasses add balance to a heart shaped face.

Square Face Shapes:

Round frames will typically look best on square or more structured faces. The roundness will aid in softening and flattering your facial features.
