The color green has taken the fashion industry by storm, not only because it is a bold color choice, but because of what the color represents. Green has been predicted to be the highlighted choice color of the year by many, including Pantone, who named the shade “Leprechaun 18-6022” as the leading color prediction for NYFW Fall 2021-22 Color Forecast. Green has many representations, including sustainability. Sustainability has increased in importance throughout industries across the globe, and ‘going green’ has quite literally made its way into the fashion industry.
On the other hand, green can resemble the color of life itself as it mirrors the colors of nature. The color can be relaxing and comforting, and can represent abundance and even love. One of the most important things to note about all shades of green is that it can be identified as renewal. Although we are still living through an ongoing pandemic, businesses are opening back up and a sense of normalcy is beginning to take form.
